Hi Jeff, I love Beynac, looking up from the Dordogne is breathtaking, surreal-especially dawn or dusk. Also nearby St. Cyprien is so charming. You're right, really the entire area is so alive and approachable. Haven't done this yet, but have heard about fabulous farmhouse family style dinners to die for in the area. Delectable local cuisine and foods, very reasonably priced. Do you have a favorite Cahors producer? I would love to know. Thanks for stopping by!

we've been visiting Beynac for 3 years now, and have absolutely fallen in love with the entire area. Waaay lower key than St Emilion or Bordeaux, it's a simply stunning area to stay, eat, and drink amazing French wines. Try the Cahors wines; great variety, easy to find and all price ranges. Get out of Bordeaux- see the real France!
