Montesquieu Winery Proudly Sponsors the Junior Seau Foundation: Helping to Educate and Empower the Youth of San Diego County

Montesquieu Winery recently had the opportunity to partner with the Junior Seau Foundation, a vital San Diego organization focused on programs that support, inspire and engage the youth community. We were delighted to provide wines for their largest fundraiser of the year, the 19th Annual Junior Seau Celebrity Golf Classic.
Established in 1992, the Junior Seau Foundation has raised money and resources for programs that help address issues including child abuse prevention, drug and alcohol awareness, recreational opportunities, anti-juvenile delinquency efforts, and educational programs and scholarships.
In April 2007, the Wall Street Journal listed the Junior Seau Foundation as the 13th largest professional athlete foundation. Funds have been distributed to a wide variety of local organizations providing services to children and young adults, as well as scholarships and an endowment fund which will continue to benefit programs in perpetuity.
This year’s Golf Classic raised more than 700K for the foundation. The gala dinner and auction Sunday March 20th was attended by our CEO and co-founder Fonda Hopkins and San Diego Sales Manager Brittney Pearson, who coordinated our involvement for the event. “Junior is so charismatic and is such an inspiration,” Brittney enthused. “It is easy to see he has a huge heart and really cares. He is very genuine and his passion is contagious.”
It was an honor to be involved, to be part of supporting such a worthwhile organization which provides a wealth of programs for San Diego’s youth community. It is rewarding to help support those youth with the desire but not the means to improve their lives!
To top it off, Brittney and Fonda shared that the crowd was simply fun, fun and more fun! A lively mixture of donors, sponsors, volunteers, celebrity sports figures (including “Legend of the Year” Bill Walton) showed a warm outpouring of support and enthusiasm which made the evening especially enjoyable.
Being a larger venue with more than 550 guests attending, we provided a selection of Montesquieu Wines that would accommodate a wide range of tastes, and customized the wines with private labels featuring the Junior Seau Foundation logo. A nice touch!
We recommend attending next year’s Celebrity Classic—whether you are a sports fan, wine lover, budding philanthropist, or a little of one or each—you will have a wonderful time!
